Rahul Dev to play Arunasur in Life OK’s Mahadev!

Team of Life OK’s mythological serial Devon ke Dev Mahadev is well-known for its strong casting. For the character of Arunasur, they had approached a host of veteran actors like Danny Denzongpa, Mithun Chakaborty and Jackie Shroff. However, the one who bagged the vital role is popular film actor Rahul Dev. He is roped in to portray Demon Arunasur and this also marks his entry on Television industry.

“Rahul, who is well known for essaying negative roles in various movies, will be seen as the negative lead Arunasur who will battle against Lord Shiva played by India’s favourite on-screen God Mohit Raina,” confirmed sources. Read more…

It seems Life OK’s mythological show Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, which stars TV heartthrob Mohit Raina as Lord Shiva, has lost its charm. Earlier it was reported that the channel is not getting good TRPs from the show and now it is said that its actors are quitting the show.

Puja Banerjee who portrays the role of Lord Parvati is said to have quit the show owning some health issues. Interestingly, Puja was featured in the show after replacing popular actress Sonarika Bhadoria. She played the character for four months only. But unlike Sonarika, who was shown the door citing some payment issues, the actress herself has decided to quit the show. Read more…

Rahul Dev to make TV debut playing a demon in Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev!

Known for playing a baddie in most of his films, actor Rahul Dev will soon be seen playing a demon Arunasur in the mythological TV series Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev. Earlier, the role was offered to actors like Mithun Chakraborty and Danny Denzongpa.

Ready to make his small screen debut, he said, “Yes, I have been offered an important role on the show. But I am still thinking about it. There are various reasons for it. Firstly, I have other commitments. Secondly, my son is studying in Delhi, and being a single parent, I keep traveling between Delhi and Mumbai. So that takes up a lot of my time. There was a time when Life OK’s mythological show Devon Ke Dev Mahadev was ruling on the roots of TRP board. Thanks to the lead actors like Sonarika Bhadoria  who played Parvati and Mohit Raina who is still playing the Mahadev’s role. But since the day Sonarika left the show citing her remuneration issues, the show has seen a fall in its TRPs.

While other side, Sonarika has constantly been getting offers from many other producers to play similar kind of roles. She informs that she was approached to play the lead role of Yashodhara in the Zee TV show Buddha, but she refused as she didn’t want to play role in mythological dailies. Read more…

Devon Ke Dev Mahadev will probably go off air this December!

The mythological show Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, which ruled millions of hearts for more than a year, is reportedly coming to an end. There is no denying that Mahadev has given a new horizon to small screen and has set a benchmark in Indian television world with its larger than life narration and visuals. But as they say every good thing comes to an end, Mahadev will also say goodbye to its loyal followers in December this year.

As per the sources, “Mahadev will probably go off air in the month of December. Earlier the makers were contemplating on the closure of the show. However, with constant dipping TVTs and no attractive story to narrate it has been decided that the show will be pulled off air by end of 2013.” Read more…

She is getting number of film offers from Bollywood, but neither one is a kind that she would want to debut with. She said, “I was getting offers while I was playing Parvati too. Sudesh Berry to essay double role in Devon Ke Dev Mahadev!

Veteran Bollywood and television actor Sudesh Berry, who is better remembered as Loha Singh from Zee TV’s hit show Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, is coming back to small screen with yet another dynamic role. He has been approached by Nikhil Sinha‘s Devon Ke Dev Mahadev to play double role of Aghori, a kind of wicked, who feed on dead bodies.

“Sudesh Berry will play twins in the show and his character will be that of an aghori. Aghoris are shaivites and it is believed that they feed on dead bodies. They are known for their extreme and unorthodox taboo rituals,” said sources adding that he take Kaali (Pooja Bose aka Parvati) hostage and misuse their tantra Vidya. Read more…

There will be a mahayudh in the special episode, where evil Andhak (Manav Gohil), is to be killed by Mahadev (Mohit Riana) and his wife Parvati (Pooja Bose) itself.
