Television actress Saumya Seth captivated hearts of telly-buffs with Star PlusNavya, followed by Sony TV‘s show Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat. She was last seen portraying an ardent lover in Bindaas’ youth show Yeh Hai Aashiqui. As her last appearance was just a cameo and she doesn’t have taken up any other project, she is enjoying her free-time with family and friends.

Speaking on what is she doing in her spare time, Soumya said, “Nowadays, I am just chilling with my family and friends. I am spending some quality time with them and recollecting the memories of the same. Currently I am not looking forward to do anything on television as nothing exciting is coming my way.” Read more…

Soumya Seth is geared to play strong role of Muslim girl in Yeh Hai Aashiqui!

Considering the fact that television actress Soumya Seth has proved her mettle of acting in two different shows like Navya and Khoobsurat, this news might not surprise her fans. The talented actress is coming to play a powerful character of a Muslim girl in Vikrant Massey’s relationship based reality show Yeh Hai Aashiqui.

The beautiful actress will play the female protagonist Sara, a strong-willed Muslim girl, who falls in love with Prabal, played by actor Karan Sharma, against their family wishes. Soumya says she couldn’t refuse it because of the script and her character. “When I first read the script, my instant reaction was ‘Wow!’. The story was very well written and post-narration, I could easily visualise my character Sara. Small-screen actress Snigdha Pandey is all set to make her comeback in the acting field. The dusky actress was last seen playing grey-shaded character in Star Plus‘ popular show Navya. And ever since the show went off-air, Snigdha has also been away from TV.

Rohit Bharadwaj avers there is no scope for short films in India!

Small screen actor Rohit Bharadwaj, who is well-known for his shows like Navya of Star Plus and Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha of Colors, has recently completed shooting of his debut Punjabi short film Waapasi.

Despite the happiness of having worked in the short film, Rohit rues how the country is not yet ready for the short film format. “Honestly, there’s no scope for short films here. In our country, commercially, short films have no mark. We took two-and-a-half years to make this film as we didn’t have a producer. At times, we are not allowed to do our kind of cinema. But in a short film, we can do anything, the way we want. This is for creative satisfaction. Worldwide, short films do well,” said Rohit. Read more…

Soumya Seth, who won hearts playing the modern day girl with a desi touch in Star PlusNavya, is all set to show off a new side of hers via Sony Entertainment Television’s new show Khoobsurat.

Helmed by Swastik Productions, Navya was quite hit among the masses but it saw an early closure. But Soumya doesn’t agree on the same and says that show’s end was not abrupt. After touching a milestone of 1000 episodes the makers of Balika Vadhu, Sphere Origins is again set to hit the small screen with its new venture on Sony Entertainment Television which has been tentatively titled as Humsafar.

According to a source, it will be a story of two girls who will be friends and later on they will get married into the same house. One will have an arranged marriage, while the other one will have a love marriage. The story will revolve around the lives of the girls as how they will be treated in the family. Read more…
